Capitol Hill Neighborhood Attractions (within walking distance)

Volunteer Park Conservatory, Seattle Asian Art Museum and Water Tower
The view from the water tower rivals the Space Needle and it’s free. It’s a climb though, 90 some steps to the top. Opposite is the conservatory (Victorian greenhouse), free and open daily during daylight hours, it’s a real treat on a cool and rainy day. With admission to the Seattle Asian Art Museum you get a discounted admission to the main museum downtown. Up the street from Volunteer Park’s northeast corner is the Louisa Boren Viewpoint, offering views of Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains.

Lake View Cemetery
Final resting place of such notables as actor/martial artist Bruce Lee, early Seattle pioneer "Doc" Maynard, and Princess Angeline, daughter of Seattle’s namesake Chief Sealth.

Washington Park Arboretum and Japanese Tea Garden
A nature escape in the middle of the city. You can walk east, straight down Aloha to Washington Park Arboretum, but be forewarned, it’s a steep climb. The over three acre Japanese Garden is lovely year round.

Fifteenth Ave East Shopping District and 19th East
Extending south from E. Roy street, 15th E. offers a variety of all the necessities: gas station, post office, health food store, supermarket, coffee houses, pubs, gift shops and restaurants. ON 19th, south of Republican, are a few of Seattle’s best small restaurants, we supply a full restaurant guide in each of our rooms.

Broadway
The place to go for cheap ethnic food or to see a movie. The Harvard Exit Theater offers first run and art house films.
